Recently had time to create again in photography doing mostly tree portraits in part due to my father being a professional forester. bsmurray57's BlogNo blog posted yet. Submit your own blog now! I am not much of a fan of b+w but this composition suits it perfectly and I would easily come back to look at this often if it hung in my house.( it may be too busy for some) 12-09 00:22 on Cold Day: I really like the colours and the composition too. Now being a tree nut,i have that basic attraction also and this one is fantastic looking with the tilting of it's trunk backward and outstretched limbs across the stream. Great 12-02 17:35 on touch of an angel: No better way to catch this moment I feel...the composition is excellent capturing all the mood and drama that the scene contained. This is one of those examples where subject matter with timing and good photography work in balance to produce a great result. 12-02 03:05 on Nile Crocodile 2: The difference between photo and snapshot is not a fine line. What could have been a typical zoo shot with unwanted secondary subject matter and an over exposed background, turns out to be an artwork when handled with knowledge and timing. We all know photography is about light and the light in this image is dramatic and controlled, yet natural enough to be believable."I" would like to see different proportions though, with either left or right view extension, to take him out of physical center and create some visual tension. ( i am one to talk with my 'in the center' tree portraits) 12-02 02:05 on Blueberries in Blue: One of the greatest attributes of photoghraphy is to capture images of the mundane or common in a way we can't or won't see normally. Here is a good example of the simple (but admittedly delicious) blueberry. Feels as though i were in some Alice in Wonderland set with berries as big as pumpkins.Farmum likes the magenta "shadow" but whoops for me, its a distraction and i see no reason for it being there.Nonetheless, it's still an "appealing" shot.
